I love my country

And I want to thank every service person there is, for giving their time and their lives for my awesome home.

I have always been proud of my country.
I have always loved my country.
I have always thought my country was the best in the world.
I have always choked up singing the national anthem.

There are people out there who chose to see all the ugly. All the bad. All the mistakes. All the bad choices.

But I don't.

I chose to see the sacrifices we make for other people of other countries. All the charity. All the good. All the wise. All the right choices. All the deliverance. All the kind. All the pure. All the beauty.

I live in one of the most beautiful states in this country.
Lush forest only blocks in any direction. Lakes abound. Wildlife in my "backyard". Gina, believe it or not but there were deer across the road in the trees a couple of weeks back.
I love driving around my area and seeing the tops of all the trees... it's like a painting in a book. Houses nestled under the canopy of these trees.

Sometimes I want to move from here, someplace warmer. Every winter I ask my husband, "why do we live here, again?"
But I really know why I chose Minnesota for my home. Not because of Joel being here. I chose it for my home before I knew him. I chose it for it's rustic beauty. It's romantic charm.

I am so thankful that it is still free. I thank all those who have sacrificed in any way to make it this way. I pray that God will always allow it to be protected.

This country is awesome! Even though some may not be happy about the way the elections turned out, I am happy that I live in a place where we are free to decide who we want running things. I am so grateful for those protecting our rights and priveleges so that we may continue living in a free country.
Jen, I wish you would have pulled out Big Dawg and taken a picture of those deer! Keep an eye out!! :)

I feel exactly the same way. I am always thinking about how wonderful everything looks. Driving around I love looking at the tops of trees and noticing how beautiful it all looks. Then the snow falls like this morning and covers everything in a sparkeling winter wonderland. I feel very sad for people that live in places where that can not experience the differant seasons...people that have never seen what beauty fall colors can bring...people who have never experienced snow men, sledding, and snow fights.

Oh I hear ya! Aren't we so lucky!?
I looked outside last night at the falling snow, watching it clump up on top of my windchime and on the children's toys in the lawn. It was just a beautiful sight watching it glisten in the light of the lamp by my door.
Joy was in my bed throwing up, I opened the blinds for her to see and she got all excited, "Oh wow! Cool!" she said, inbetween her heaving.
